Habib Koite and Bamada March 12, 2010 | 7:30pm Malian guitarist Habib Koité is one of Africa’s most popular and recognized musicians. Few African artists have received the sales and media exposure of Habib Koité. Called "Mali's biggest pop star" by Rolling Stone, Habib has received raves from widely-read publications such as People, Entertainment Weekly and the New York Times. Well respected among musicians, he has been compared Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn.
